ESPORAO 2005 ALICANTE BOUSCHET ALENTEJO

RED WINE FROM THE ALENTEJO REGION, PORTUGAL. 100% ALICANTE BOUSCHET.

Made exclusively from Alicante Bouschet grapes. It was fermented with extensive maceration under strict temperature control, and then matured for 6 months in american and french oak barrels. The resultant Alicante Boushet is smooth and well rounded with strong varietal character. It has ripe plum and berry fruit flavours with some leather and toast, a wam, suple palate, and soft, mounth filling tannins. Deep, concentrated red color.  Shows typical violet and red berry fruit aromas combinated with a toasty oak complexity.  It is a well structed wine with a good balance between fruit and oak. Best with strong red meat dishes, game or matured cheeses.
